If you had to classify angles how would you do it? How many groups would there be? What would you name each group? What do you think?
3
LG: Classify a given set of angles according to their measure Kid Friendly: Name types of angles depending on how many degrees they are What I think I know: Learning Goals
4
Angles can be broken up into different groups These groups are based on how many degrees, or in other words how much they turn As an angle increases, the name changes Sort of like how the moon changes and has different names for its phases! Classifying

Type of AngleDescription Acute anglean angle that is less than 90° Right anglean angle that is 90° exactly Obtuse anglean angle that is greater than 90° but less than 180° Straight anglean angle that is 180° exactly Reflex anglean angle that is greater than 180° Full Rotationan angle that is exactly 360° Different types of Angles

Draw the following angles: 0 degrees, 180 degrees, 360degrees How are these three angles different? What makes this obvious? Draw two different reflex angles Draw a 90degree angle. What other angle could be shown using the same diagram? Draw (approximately) a 20degree angle. What other angle could be shown using the same diagram? Find the missing measurements: Mental Math Warm Up

Find a way to creatively explain angles and specific classifications of angles For example: an educreations video (only a few iPads to use) a comic a song a piece of artwork other unique ideas You must include ___ of the following words: Angle, arc, arm, vertex, line segment, base line, right angle, acute, obtuse, straight angle, reflex Creative Math
