Upon its release in the United States Pac-Man became a social craze.  By the 90’s Pac-Man had generated more than $2.5 billion in quarters. Pac-Man had become such a recognizable character that almost 94% of American consumers at the time know the little yellow ball.

7.  For billions of years the ozone layer had protected life on Earth from the sun’s ultraviolet rays.  In 1985, scientists were troubled when they discovered that there was a hole in the ozone layer over the Antarctica.  1% drop in Ozone = 2% increase in harmful UV radiation
