3.  Use your textbook  Charlotte Huck’s Children’s Literature: This 5 pound, nearly $100, 700+ page book will NOT be read chapter by chapter with assignments and quizzes!  IT SHOULD BE YOUR VALUABLE RESOURCE in learning about children’s lit. and it should be invaluable with locating titles.  Should you buy it? Yes!

4.  VISIT and SPEND time in Bookstores and Libraries.  Take a few hours a day and visit: Borders (Town Center Mall), Three Oaks Public Library, and FGCU Library, or Books a Million, Barnes and Noble nearest you!  Explore! Initiate a conversation with other readers and workers in the youth services section of the library or the children and juvenile sections of the bookstore.
