Black History Month Project

Research The first thing you need to have is your Black History Month Research. You need to have information about one influential African American from the list of choices. You were to find information about their family, childhood, education and what they did to make this world better.

Project You have 4 choices 1) Art- Drawing and 75 word description. 2) Music- Minimum 1 minutes, max 4 minutes recorded as MP3 on a flashdrive. Typed lyrics. 3) Poetry- No longer than 30 lines. Typed. 4) Essay- Minimum of 500 words. In your own words.

Schedule Feb 22 nd - Research Done. Working on rough draft. Feb 23 rd - Continue on rough draft. Planning for final draft. Make sure you have materials needed. Feb 24 th - Final Draft work time. Feb 25 th - Final Draft work time.

Final Draft Art- Drawing of your chosen person, other symbols or images related to that person or time period. 75 word description about the person you researched. Color and neatness required. Music- Lyrics have to be hand written in neat hand writing, correct spelling and punctuation. Must be in your own words. Upon reading out loud, must be longer than 1 minute.

Final Draft Poetry- Must be at least 15 lines of poetry. Has to flow. Must be neat and the paper should be decorated with images or symbols that go with the person you researched. Essay- Must be at least 500 words. Correct spelling and punctuation is a must. Your essay should include your person’s childhood, family, education and mostly the change the person made in this world. Neatly written.
