2. The concept of immersion design is to immerse animals and guests in the same re-created theme area, habitat or landscape. Animals and visitors are separated by hidden barriers. In its purest sense, landscape immersion design takes the position "nature is the best model". This concept has gradually gained world- wide acceptance and is often considered "best practice".

4. Look at your animal type. Work with your group to pick a specific animal. Pick 2 people to go to the library and select a book on that animal. Brainstorm ideas: –In what habitat can your animal naturally be found? –What features would your animal have to have? –What features would your animal like to have?

5. Split up the jobs: –2 members will sketch the enclosure. –2 members will design a brochure to attract visitors to the exhibit. –1-2 members will write a press release to announce the opening of the exhibits.
