THE SITUATION GET WORSE We cannot save ourselves! Eph 2:8-10 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

ABCs OF SALVATION A = “All have sinned…” B = “Behold the Lamb…” C = “Come unto Me…”

THIS IS WHAT GOD’S WORD TEACHES… 1 st Everyone of an accountable age is lost – is a sinner. (Rom 3:10 & 23) 2 nd Sinners need to understand that sin is more than bad deeds, it includes improper thinking and poor attitudes too. (Matt 5:27-28 & 48) 3 rd There are sins of omission and commission (James 4:17; 1Jo 3:4) 4 th Committing just one sin is equal to breaking the whole law. (James 2:10)

5 th A Holy God cannot tolerate even one sin….He would not be Holy if He did! However, we should not conclude that all sin is equal, some is more consequential than others. Matt 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. John 19:10-11 Then Pilate said to Him, "Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?'' Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.'' John 19:10-11 Then Pilate said to Him, "Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?'' Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.''

6 th The penalty for sin (breaking the law) is spiritual death (eternal separation from God). 7 th But there is Good News….we can be forgiven of sin through the Grace given in Jesus Christ! Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.

8 th One must repent of all sin…past, present and future. 2Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. Acts 17:30-31 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.'' Acts 17:30-31 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.''

9 th One must also willingly confess the Lordship of Jesus – not just on the day Christ is accepted but everyday following. Rom 10:8-10 But what does it say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart'' (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

10 th And, one MUST be immersed in water in order to fully obey and accept Jesus as Lord…. we put Him on in baptism. Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

DON’T DESPAIR… THE VERY WORD GOSPEL MEANS: GOOD NEWSDON’T DESPAIR… THE VERY WORD GOSPEL MEANS: GOOD NEWS

John 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

HEAR -- You must hear God's message. This comes from the preaching, teaching, and reading of the Word of Christ, the Bible. Romans 10:17 FAITH -- Upon hearing God's message, you must believe and have faith that Christ is the Son of the living God, and that He died as a sacrifice for your sins. John 8:24 REPENT -- You must recognize and admit your own personal sins, and change from that way of thinking and living. 2Corinthians 7:9- 10; Acts 17:30-31 CONFESS -- You must openly acknowledge and confess your belief that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Romans 10:9-10 BAPTIZE -- Upon repenting, you must be baptized as an act of faith and obedience to receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a burial of the old self and a resurrection of your new life in Christ. John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38
