About 15% people in U.S spend their time in hospital, and the other just visit the hospital as outpatient. Every hospital needs a license to operate. They will get it if the hospital meets basic national standards which are set by the commission. The group which have a function to review the quality of the hospital is PRO. The medical staff like physician provides guidance to the other member team. And most of them have their private office practice, they will send their patient to hospital if it is necessary. But in many hospitals, physicians don’t have their private practice; they work there directly for the hospital.
