History 역사 Yeogsa People believe that Korean Ancestors were from Mongolia and Siberia. Korea was one nation before it split to two nations in 1945 when Japan surrendured in World War II. China has a very large part in Korea’s history. The chinese characters have influenced Korea to use their unique characters. This started in 200 B.C.E. Even before that, China has been influencing Korea. In 1895, Japan beat Korea in the Sino-Japan War, stopping chinese influence. Then, Japan beats Russia in another war gaining control over Korea. At the end of World War II, Korea was split into two nations at the 38 th parallel – or 38°N in 1945. South Korea became the Republic of Korea. North Korea tries to invade South Korea in 1950, and then they finally make a truce in 1953. In 2000, the presidents of both Korean nations met for the first time in 50 years since the truce of the two nations. BAM!!!!

Land and Climate 토지 및 기후 Gochi Mich Gihu South Korea occupies the south of the Korean Peninsula under the 38 th parallel. Which extends about 680 miles from the asian mainland. South Korea has four general regions. The estern region is has high mountain ranges and very, very narrow coastal plains. The western region has broad coastal plains, river basons, and rolling hills. The southeastern region has mountains and valleys, while the southwestern is dominated by the broad basin of the Nakdong River. South Korea is mountainous and little of is arable. Lowlands, mostly in the west and southeast, only take up about 30% of the land. There are more than 1,000 islands off the coasts of South Korea. The climate type is which means it has

Government and Economy 정부와 경제 Jeongbuwa Gyeongje Korea is officially known as the Republic of Korea (ROK). That is because they believe they are entirely of the whole Korea, they also believe that Korea is not two nations. They are led by a president who is elected a five-year term. South Korea has one of the strongest economies in Eastern Asia. Most of its wealth comes from manufacturing and sevice industries, like banking.
