Output Devices We Will Be Talking About ● ROBOTS! ● Printers / Scanners ● Speakers ● Compact Disks ● Headphones ● Disk Drives ● Floppy Disks ● Monitors

!@! ROBOT !@! ● A robot, is a mechanical device which through various instructions can perform a multitude of tasks. Different robots perform different tasks.

PRINTERPRINTER ● A printer is a devise which when connected to a computer, can transfer images onto paper. This allows them to be viewed anytime.

SPEAKERS ● Speakers let us hear what is going on in a computer and other electronic devices. The computer data is changed to sound.

HEADPHONESHEADPHONES ● Headphones are a special type of speaker. They allow us to hear stuff, but other people can't. They come in different shapes and sizes.

FLOPPY DISK ● The floppy disk, is a nearly obsolete output device. It is the predecessor of the modern compact disk. A floppy disk was used to store and release information

COMPACT DISKCOMPACT DISK ● The compact disc is the modern form of the floppy disc. Information can be stored on it and then retrieved using a disc drive.

DISK DRIVE ● A disk drive reads a disc. It enters data from the disk into the computer.

MONITOR ● A monitor, or screen, allows us to view images. Without a monitor, we would not be able to see what we were doing on the computer. It is one of the most important output devices.
