Coming Up Presentation project, to be introduced today. Finishing Unit 3: Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo – We will have occasional pop-quizzes, open note, to check our note taking progress. – Review day and test. Exact test date to come, around second week in April.

A Day in the Life of_________ Art History Project

A Day in the Life of ____________ Describe what the artist would experience in their everyday life – How they created their artwork – What they created – What family, friends, other people were in their lives – Who did they interact with for creating their work (patrons, students, fellow artists, etc.) – Who were they influenced by and who did they influence – What did they look like 2 pages typed minimum. Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double spaced Must include 3 sources, cite them when you paraphrase or quote

Artist Poster A Bibliography taped or written on the back of the poster. – Wikipedia is not a valid source – Reputable websites are acceptable – See the teacher if you are unsure of your source Minimum two (2) well known artworks from the artist, that you will present on If available, an image of the artist, any other images about their life and time period Your typed paper must be included on the poster.

Presentation 5-10 minute presentation on your paper and poster. You must go beyond the text on your paper/poster (do not just read it) You may use other visual aids and/or additional materials to support your presentation.

Timeline March 27 th – Artist name chosen and turned in April 4 th – Three (3) Bibliographical sources April 14 th – One page draft/outline April 23 rd – Full rough draft due April 30 th – Final paper and poster due April 30 th -May 12 th - Presentation

Choosing Your Artist Search for an artist by art movement: Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque Neoclassical, Romanticism, Realism Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism and Expressionism Cubism, Futurism, Dada, Surrealism Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art Your chosen artist must be from the Gothic period or later. Doing a quick online search should give you a large list from which to choose. Be sure that you will be able to find out enough information about your artist before you make your choice. Each student must have an artist that has not been chosen by anyone else in class.
