2 introduction The Iditarod is famous dog sled race. The first Iditarod was on March 3 rd 1973.

3 Mushers My musher is Ken Andrason. He has won a lot of money in his career. He is 42 years old. He was born in Minnesota.

4 Dogs The dogs are one of the most important parts of the race. Without the dogs the mushers would not be able to race. The dogs they use are called Huskies. The limit is 16 dog per mushers.

5 The Routes There are 2 routes.One is the northern and one is southern route. There are 27 checkpoints.

6 Awards If you drop out to make sure your dogs are ok you might get a safety award. If you come in last you get the Red Lantern.
