3 Why? 70% of the 30 fastest growing occupations in the U.S. today require education beyond high school. Over a lifetime, a college graduate earns nearly $1 million more than a high school graduate. The economic advantage of obtaining a college education today is more than four times as great as it was 50 years ago.

9 Admissions-TCSG A GED or high school transcript will be required for admission to the Technical College or to a program as specified by the program's standards. In addition, all applicants must submit scores from SAT, ACT, or an approved college placement test such as the Asset or Compass.

10 Admission-USG Schools Minimum requirements for admissions are: Students must graduate from high school Students must present credit for 17 specified units for students who graduate in 2012 or beyond. (16 units for students graduating prior to 2012) Your Freshmen Index (FI) score will determine the type of institution you can attend: university, regional university, state university and state or 2- year college.

11 Special purpose schools: Will teach specific skills and knowledge related to occupations such as: Court Reporting Cosmetology Dental Real Estate Truck Driving Horseshoeing

13 Military The armed services provides students with another option to continue their education beyond high school Army Navy Air Force Marines Coast Guard

14 Apprenticeships An apprenticeship provides on-the-job training and education in a skilled craft or trade: Electricians Elevator Installers Heavy Equipment Operators Plumbers/Pipefitters Welders
