TE-ABT Naming Issues R. Noulibos EDMS Doc. 13/01/2015 18 Chicane BI-SMV BI-DIS BI.KSWs BI.TKSTR From Linac 4 PS Booster Rings BI.MSBSWBI.MSMIF Part 2-d: Consistency with other machine systems PS Booster Linac 4 Injection _ Change in a layout component name to a 5 letter component code (BI.MSMIF) instead of a 3 letter (BI.BHZ) component code removes « consistency » in the naming of an existing machine.

TE-ABT Naming Issues R. Noulibos EDMS Doc. 13/01/2015 19 Part 2-d: Consistency with other machine systems AD and Elena Naming Conventions PS-C-QA-0001 : Equipment Naming Convention (Edms doc. 491919)Edms doc. 491919 is used for AD machine LNA-QA-002 : Equipment Naming Convention (Edms doc. 1232231)Edms doc. 1232231 is used for ELENA machine _ With shared systems, common existing naming conventions would be easier to implement. _ A new naming convention should cover all systems in order to avoid multiple naming systems

TE-ABT Naming Issues R. Noulibos EDMS Doc. 13/01/2015 20 Conclusion _ The 5 character equipment code defining on a function is OK for ABT (CKPCU, MSMIE, FKOPG, …) _ The replacement of an existing QAP naming scheme in existing machines would create considerable difficulties for ABT databases. Example: Changing layout code from BE1.KFA14L1.RKDSW001 to RKDSW.361.KFA14L1.DSW001 _ The layout component name is the biggest issue for standardisation in ABT _ Having the « K » letter for Kickers or « S » letter for Septa in the equipment codes makes it easy to create or retrieve them.
