Personality disorders are Social disorders without anxiety, depression delusions There are 3 clusters of personality disorders: 1.Odd/eccentric Schizoid: poor capacity for forming relationships, withdrawn, considered ‘cold’ to others Schizotypal: odd thinking, suspicious and hostile Paranoid: suspicious, overly sensitive, envious 2.Dramatic/emotionally problematic Histrionic: attention seeking, over reacts, Narcissistic: manipulative, unrealistically self-important, lacks empathy, can’t take criticism, expects special treatment Borderline: impulsive, unpredictable, irritable, emotionally unstable, prone to boredom. Antisocial: used to be called sociopaths or psychopaths. Violate others without guilt or remorse. Manipulative, irresponsible, charming, violent. 3.Chronic fearfulness/avoidant Avoidant: sensitive to potential rejection. Socially withdrawn Dependent: allows others to make all decisions Obsessive-compulsive: serious, preoccupied with rules, details.
