More About Coop Retired from the Post Office Took part time job as a driver at FlexRide to get himself out of the house. (He was driving his wife crazy.) FlexRide seemed like it would be fun, and a chance to meet a lot of people

Scenarios One day of Coop’s work Arrives at departure point a 9a.m.

Picks up riders based on calls from dispatch Sometimes forgets pickups when traffic is heavy

Coop often forgets his next destination and has to ask to repeat their destination When they ask how long will it be? He has little idea.

After his shift he often feels tired or frustrated Not only can his job be frustrating at times, but he feels no connection to the riders.

Coop’s Dilemma His new job has turned out to be more stressful than he imagined Has to keep track of too many destinations in his head. Is losing his hearing - has to ask riders to repeat their destination. Feels rushed, and has little chance to interact with passengers.

Solutions Coop uses an iPhone mounted in the dash that is wired to the door The drive mode shows him his next destination and approximate time The boarding mode shows him names as riders scan their card

Solutions The rider can use the service to see if shuttles are near and to contact the service for pickup. The map shows shuttles in real- time After finding a shuttle, the rider chooses to be picked up
