Protestant Beliefs -Protestants believe that the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church teachings are wrong. -They feel like those versions of the religion are perversions. -In other words, they feel as if the religions have changed the beliefs and ruined them.

Sola Scriptura Translates into “By Scripture Alone”. One of the three “great principles”. A doctrine in which the Scripture in the Bible is the only authority in Christianity, not the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church or their teachings.

Sola Fide Other watch word of the Reformation. We are justified before God by faith alone, nothing else. Basically Sola Fide was being saved by faith in God, nothing that you did with the church or anything else.

Sola Gratia By grace alone. Believers are saved through the grace of God.

Reformers Reject Reformers rejected the power of the Pope. The merit of good works, all but the two sacraments instituted by Christ prayers for the dead, confession of the priest, and a lot more.

Priesthood of all Believers During the Reformation, now believed that all believers were, “holy priests”. As believers, all people should have access to, and be able to understand and interpret the Bible for themselves.
