INTRODUCTION MIS serves as computer system used for managing water supply systems to improve maintenance of existing Water supply systems and the establishment of new water supply systems.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES To enable optimal management of the activities related to the development of the water supply and sanitation sector To facilitate direct access to information for all stakehoders in the sectors.

CURRENT STATUS National drinking water coverage : 74% (MIS- December 2013) National Sanitation Coverage: 71% (MIS- December 2013) On track to achieve Sanitation MDGs Still water supply is lagging behind To achieve Vision 2017 however, we need to increase access by 6% every year for water supply( W&S) This requires a huge investment

CHALLENGES Lack of water users committee in some districts Lack of wash engineer in some districts. Management under water associations without PPP contract approach Lack of RURA involvement in water tariff setting in rural areas.
