2 A Separate World UgandaRwanda Central Africa Contains no centralized government Schools were destroyed Between 26,000 and 66,000 children have been abducted and enlisted into the LRA, Lord’s Resistance Army and over 100,000 have died because of this group. Central Africa Political warfare Do not allow poor to attend ample schooling 800,000 people have died due to the cultural diversities present throughout political parties in past 17 years

4 What is the LRA? The Lord’s Resistance Army is a Christian fundamentalist military group. Began in Northern Uganda Violates several human rights, including murder, abduction, mutilation, sexual slavery, and forcing children to participate in hostile activities as child soliders Cultural differences throughout the area make for dangerous living environments for everyone effected by this group

5 Joseph Kony Has been abducting children for 26 years (30,000) Forces children to join LRA, turning the girls into sex slaves and the boys into child soldiers, forcing them to kill their parents and mutilate others. Not fighting for any cause, but only fighting to maintain his power International Criminal Court states Joseph Kony is of number one priority for arrest on their list because of the perversity of his crimes

Making a plan to stop Joseph Kony The plan: Spread the word by putting Kony’s name out there so Americans know what we are fighting for… Freedom Awareness turns to Action Kony has been an evil precence in Africa for years, why now? This movement over simplifies Ugandan politics When the power of love overcomes he love of power, the world will know peace.

7 KONY 2012 Mission Caring for injustice and deciding what to do, too often we do nothing. Arrest Kony this year (2012), this means Ugandan Military must find him, which can only happen with the technological aid and training provided by the United States Advisors Obama has sent these advisors, but without continued American support, the mission will be cancelled In order for people to care they have to know
