Name the Parts of a Plant! FlowerStem Leaves Roots
9
Roots help provide support for the plant by anchoring it into the ground. Plants also absorbed the water and nutrients a plant needs to survive.
10
Stems carry water and nutrients taken up from the roots to the leaves. Stems also provide support for the plant allowing the leaves to reach the sunlight it needs to produce food.
11
Leaves grow from out of the stem. They help the plant produce food. After the food is produced the leaves help to move it to other parts of the plant.
12
Flowers don’t just look pretty, they are very important in making seeds. Seeds travel by the wind, by birds, and sometimes on animal fur. After the seeds are transported to a new location more plants can begin to grow.
