Market Overview UN estimates new 740 million homes are needed in developing countries. That requires 100,000 new homes a day in 20 years (1). Half of them live in areas susceptible to earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes. In Asia alone, about 1/3 of population. i.e. 1 billion people, live in rural areas that needs better shelters. How much does it cost to build a house ? A house of 5m x 10m x 3 m is equivalent to 1700 squared feet of coverage of the material. One bag of 50lbs covers 20 squared feet. A house will requires about 88 bags (1). Each bag of Grancrete is now sold for $23 USD (2). Total material cost is $2000.
