AIM: The Aim of the experiment is to explore how to find the centre of gravity using household items. The Aim of the experiment is to explore how to find the centre of gravity using household items.

Materials: The materials needed are: The materials needed are: 1.Two empty soft drink cans, e.g. Coke or Sprite 2.100ml of water 3.One friend who knows nothing about the experiment
4
Apparatus: 1.Firstly, pour the 100ml of water into one of the empty cans but make sure your friend does not see anything. 2.Then invite your friend to take on the challenge of balancing the other can on its bottom rim. 3.Now try it with your can which secretly has water in it and see if there is a different result.
5
Observation: When you invite your friend to take on the challenge of balancing the other can it would not work and just collapse. But when you try your can it would not collapse and stay up straight for as long as you like. But why does this happen?.... Explanation: Your can stays up and does not collapse due to the water inside. The water inside is quite heavy and shifts into a new position when you tilt the can by doing so it moves the centre of gravity from there to another spot, which is directly above the point it has been balanced on. A line through the centre of gravity is always vertical

Challenge task: I think a cartoon of juice would need centre of gravity to balance. Also a salt shaker of maybe bottles of wine. I also think some foods can be balanced if they are heavy.
