Interview Don’t worry about going off on tangents Talk with parents – leave contact info for yourself and the YFU Admissions office What’s next?

Common Qs Scholarships? Will my host family speak English? When will I find out about getting a scholarship? How are host families picked? When will I leave? Do not assume that if something is a rule in the USA for international students, it is the same for American students!

NOTE Discovering Unusual Situations – Dietary restrictions – Overage students – Underage students – Low grades – Previously interviewed students Contact admissions office with anything unusual Previous YFU students – use the additional questions at the end of the interview packet

SUBMIT and STAY IN TOUCH After Interview

SUBMIT Save interview on computer Email to admissions@yfu.org Send within a couple days of interview Send follow-up email to student or parents with answers to questions or directing them to admissions@yfu.org

AFTER Try to stay in touch with student – Congratulate them if they go – Ask if they want to host – Notify them of Pre- Departure orientation dates – Talk to them after exchange.
