Following Rules ◦ Why are rules important? ◦ Why would following rules be under a safety heading? Fire Drills and Tornado Drills ◦ Listen ◦ Have urgency in your movement without running ◦ Do what you are told by your teacher or principal Walking in the hallways (The 4 S’s) ◦ Silent, Straight, Satisfactory, and Smart

Be where you should be ◦ Restrooms ◦ Visiting other teachers and or school faculty Playground / Recess Activity ◦ Horse-playing, Wrestling, Play fighting, Picking each other up, Profanity, Pushing, Grabbing, Vulgar dancing Cafeteria ◦ Walk and pay attention ◦ If there is a spill clean it up or tell an adult immediately

Classroom safety ◦ Walk it vs Throwing it ◦ Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourselves ◦ Control your temper don’t let it control you ◦ Use pencils to write with only ◦ When your teacher is talking stop and listen ◦ When the intercom is on stop and listen ◦ When an adult or student enters in the room continue to work or read. If you were not working on something or reading, start to work or read ◦ Always line up in alphabetical order

Bullying ◦ ZERO Tolerance ◦ What is bullying? ◦ If you feel that you are being bullied keep a log of the person’s name, the action, the date, and time ◦ Report bullying ◦ There is a form that will be filled out and taken to the office. The information will be processed and a committee will form of principal(s), teacher (s), parents and other school faculty.

Be willing to do extra work (if necessary) Study, Study, Study Ask questions Be honest Write down what you don’t understand Have goals and keep a record ◦ Remember: An inch is a cinch and a mile takes a while.

Get each others phone numbers within your group (with parents permission) to help with homework or questions with classwork Take good notes and be organized Listen and pay attention If it is to be, It’s up to me There is no such thing as “I can’t” Go to bed Eat healthy and exercise Be positive and give 100% of effort

When my hand goes up – Stop whatever you are doing. I need ears open and mouths closed. Before you ask me, see three Raise your hand and Keep your seat Be aware of time Come to class prepared Respect yourself, peers, and all teachers and school faculty. Also respect property. Follow directions

Respect the Cafeteria Ladies and all School Staff Eat with your mouths closed Do not touch or hover around someone’s food Do not play in the food Be careful not to have spills Pass it vs Throwing it Have appropriate conversations Give each other personal space Avoid spitting Avoid begging Stay seated Avoid yelling across the table

Will be chosen each morning ◦ Helpers will be responsible for Anything needed Mail Hall monitor Class Greeter and Dismisser Cafeteria duty Recess monitor What’s the weather?? Bathroom monitors will be chosen alphabetically for our young ladies and gentlemen
