3. Keena Ford doesn’t mean to be a troublemaker, but sometimes the things she do get out of sorts. Lucky for her, it’s the beginning of second grade and Keena has got a clean slate. So when her new teacher, Ms. Campbell thinks its her birthday and brings in a huge, chocolate birthday cake, Keena realizes that she has gotten herself in a sticky situation.

4. Keena faces stiff consequences for her not being truthful about her birthday, including being sent to the time out room.

5. The story is funny, as Keena pretends that it is her birthday. Her simple mistake, writing 2/9 instead of 9/2 as her birthday causes all of the turmoil. Keena antics dries the story.
