What is a Lit Circle? For a few minutes each day we are going to… Have a dinner table discussion about TKAM. You will fill out a worksheet for homework and during class discuss what you have found for your worksheet.

Your Group Your group is based on the color your position is. There is Red, Green, Blue, and Orange. When you get in your group: REMEMBER where you sat!! This is going to be your assigned seat for the rest of this group project.

Your Group When you move to your group, make sure you form a table with the 6 desks.

Your Role Your role will change every day. You will fill out the worksheets for each day along with the study guide.

Rubric Aim for a 10! You can get in between 0, 5, and 10. These are the general guidelines.

Discussion Director Find 3 key topics and write them down. These are the main points your group is going to try to stay on track with as you all meet together in groups.

Culture Connector What in this novel really stuck out to you as a problem that we are facing in this culture or issues students in your grade level you are facing? Write down 2 connections and why you believe they are alike.

Word Whiz Choose 3 words from this chapter that you were not sure of the meaning or were particularly interesting to you. Look them up and explain why you chose them.

Passage Picker Choose 2 passages that was particularly important to you. Why did you choose these? What stuck out to you in these passages that made you stop and think?

Savvy Summarizer Read the entire chapter and summarize what exactly happened.

Artful Artist Choose 2 especially vivid scenes that really pop for you, draw them on paper utilizing magazines, clip art, yarn, markers, anything you can find. Be creative! Side note: To get a 10, there needs to be more than just a pen/pencil on notebook paper.

In Groups Once you are settled into your groups, please do the following: Sit in a seat. On the paper provided write your names where you are seated. These will be your seats for the remaining of the Literature Groups.

Literature Circle Please get into your assigned spots. Green: Go to the back of the room by the windows. Blue:Go to the back of the room by the bookshelf. Red:Go to the front of the room by the pencil sharpener. Orange: Go to the front of the room by the windows.
