Our district uses: Illinois Learning Standards along with the new National Common Core Standards http://www.isbe.net/ http://www.commoncore.org
8
Assessments are used to help teachers determine if a student is understanding the content presented in the classroom. If a child does not reach a certain proficiency level when they take an assessment, we consider them for additional help from our Title I program.
9
The proficiency levels for our assessments are: 2012 – 92.5% 2013 – 92.5% 2014 – 100% Reauthorization of NCLB is forthcoming but no one knows what that will look like.
10
Your child will be taking the Illinois State Assessment Test (ISAT) in grades 3-8. Four Proficiency Levels for the ISAT Exceeds Standards – 227-329 Meets Standards – 191-226 Below Standards – 190-156 Academic Warning – 155 and below Our goal (and the State’s goal) is for your student to reach the “Proficient” level on the ISAT.
