5 What is a Characteristic? A characteristic is an individual quality that may make someone different from someone else. What are some of your characteristics?

6 The Entrepreneur needs energy! An entrepreneur can be defined as “ a person who has created- out of nothing- an ongoing enterprise. To imagine your business, set it up, and make it succeed will take a lot of energy.

7 Characteristics of the Successful Entrepreneur Adaptability: coping with new situations and solving problems. Competitiveness: a willingness to compete with and test yourself against others. Confidence: believing that you can accomplish what you set out to do.

8 Drive: the desire to work hard to achieve your goals. Honesty: to be truthful and refrain from lying. Organization: keep order, structure your life. Persuasiveness: convincing people to see your point of view

9 Discipline: the ability to stay focused and adhere to a schedule and deadline. Perseverance: refusal to quit despite obstacles Risk Taking: the courage to expose yourself to possible losses. Understanding: an ability to listen to and empathize with other people.

10 Vision: the ability to see the end results of your goals while working to achieve them.

11 Skills Means Success: pg. 58 Read Make a list of the traits from highest to lowest that relate to you as an entrepreneur.

12 Entrepreneurs are Optimists Optimists are individuals with a positive attitude. With optimists a positive mental attitude is the key to success.

13 Positive Thinking is Powerful Pay attention to your thoughts. When thinking a negative thought, make an effort to replace it with a positive one. Your thoughts affect your body.

15 Self-Esteem: A Positive Attitude about Yourself To feel self-esteem is to have a positive attitude about oneself. Entrepreneurs believe that a positive attitude and have a high self-esteem are crucial to success.

16 The Father of Positive Mental Attitude Clement Stone was the “Father of Mental Attitude.” He replaced the idea of fear with self-motivating phrases to get him through the day. He believed that the key to success was have a positive attitude.

17 A Company’s Core Belief Core Belief are fundamental beliefs used to guide a company. Core beliefs can affect your business decisions.
