GAME PROGRAMMER By: Aaron Ramos and Oscar Quiles

Programming In this profession there are several disciplines of programming. Programmers may specialize in one area of game programming, but many are familiar with several aspects. The number of programmers needed for each feature depends somewhat on programmers' skills, but mostly are dictated by the type of game being developed.

The Different Areas of Programming Game engine programmer Physics engine programmer Graphics engine programmer Artificial intelligence programmer Sound programmer Gameplay programmer Etc.

The Math To be specific, a 3D graphics programmer must have a firm grasp of advanced mathematical concepts such as vector and matrix math, quaternions and linear algebra. Programmers must also be familiar with the language of video games which is usually C++.

The Technology Video games are made with a lot of software and computers. Then they are played on state of the art gaming consoles. As newer technology is invented, video games become better and the way we play them becomes more unique.

What Interested Us I recal this profession being mentioned last year and we thought that it would be a good idea to look into it since we play video games so much. This specific article interested us because it showed all the different disciplines of programming and talked about them individually.

What we learned What we learned from this article is that there are several different disciplines of programming involved in game programming and different games require a different amount of these programmers.

We are lacking skills To be able to pursue this profession we would need to learn several other concepts in math that we have yet to talk about. We would also have to be very good with computers and coding to become good programmers.
