Republic – a state/country in which the sovereignty resides in the people and the powers are lodged in officers/representatives elected by the people. Constitution – the document recording the laws and principles that govern a country, etc.

Constitutional Monarchy – a type of government in which the powers of the ruler(s) are limited by the constitution Absolute Monarchy – A form of government in which political power is held by a single ruler such as a king or queen. Dictatorship – a political system in which the ruler or rulers has unlimited power and denies people’s fundamental rights; office or term of a dictator.

Communism – a social system characterized by sharing of goods and services Socialism – Public collective ownership or control of basic production, distribution and exchange of goods
