Demonstrate mastery of the processes that form Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic Rock. Level 4 Compare and contrast sub-surface and surface events related to the creation of rock types. Level 3 Clearly explain how all three types of rock are formed and identify the patterns within the rock cycle and relate them to surface events (weathering and erosion) and sub- surface events (plate tectonics and mountain building) Level 2 State the three categories of rocks and the basics of how they form. Level 1 With help, I can name the three types of rock.

Rock Cycle Lab REVIEW sediment 2. Physical weathering because rock is being broken down physically. 3.Erosion because sediment is MOVING to another location. 4. Deposition, compaction, and cementation forming Sedimentary rock. 5.Metamorphic rock because of the extreme pressure and heat. 6. Weight of the rocks above and plate movement. 7. Liquid with swirls of different colors. 8. EXTRUSIVE because it cooled outside (lava cooling).
