2 What is an Accounting? Accounting is an information system designed by an organization to capture the financial condition and performance then report it to decision makers both inside and out. Simple term- Accounting is the “Language of Business” Accountant is someone who is skilled in accounting practices whether for a company or an individual.

3 Two Types of Accoutants? CPA-Financial (Certified Public Accountant)-An individual who has passed the uniform CPA examination administered by the American Institute Of Certified Public Accountants, and who has received state certification to practice accounting. CMA-Managerial (Certified Management Accountant)-accredited professional who handles all aspects of management accounting. Management accounting includes cost analysis, economic forecasting, and quality control.
