Policy Updates The Iraqi government has been created and is in the process of becoming stable. Ba’ath party members have been allowed to return to their jobs, and are no longer being removed by US officials. The Iraqi Military has been reinstated.

Troop Withdrawal President Obama says most US troops will be out of Iraq by the end of August 2010. Obama also said 35,000 to 50,000 troops will stay on into 2011 to advise Iraqi forces, target terror and protect US interests. Many forces will be relocated into Afghanistan and Iran.
