2 What needs to be in your research paper? You need at least 5 subtopics for your research. Think about what people need to know to understand your topic. Use your organization sheet to generate these ideas. These will become what you research for specifically.

3 Subtopic Ideas What it is? How does one contract the disease? Who is/How many are involved with the organizations? Cures/Symptoms/Treatments Outreach branches/fundraising events/awareness days and events

4 Thesis Statements A thesis statement: A clearly defined opinion focusing on your topic This helps the reader get an idea of what to expect Do NOT say: I am going to tell you about… You will learn about… Stay 3 rd Person please

5 Thesis Statement Location A thesis statement: Must be mentioned in your introductory paragraph Is typically the last sentence of the paragraph May be second to last if you have a transitional sentence Must be restated in your concluding paragraph Do not write it the exact same (word for word)
