Primary Reaction- where combustion (burning) starts. Main Reaction-where combustion is complete. Luminous- free carbon in the atmosphere gets “excited” and glows. Candle Flame

Fueled by capillary action—the wick sucks up wax and burns it in the presence of oxygen. Carbon dioxide and water vapor are waste products of combustion Free carbon is soot Candle Flame

Primary Combustion-air and fuel mixture is ignited. Main Reaction-combustion (burning) starts to take place. Mantle-combustion is completed. Bunsen Burner

Fuel is methane (a gas) and oxygen. They mix and cause a blue flame.
