3 Mastery learning is a system of instruction that seeks to enable all students to achieve instructional objectives by allowing learning time to vary as needed. The basic idea behind mastery learning is to make sure that all or almost all students have learned a particular skill to a pre-established level of mastery before moving to the next skill.
