PROCEDURE FOR SAVING FRED: 1. BEND THE OUTER EDGE OF THE PAPERCLIPS TO A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. GET FRED IN THE CORNER OF THE ANGLE THEN GENTLY SQUEEZE IT AROUND HIM SO HE WON’T SLIP. WEDGE THE REMAINING TWO PAPERCLIPS HALF-WAY UNDER THE BOAT. FLIP THE BOAT OVER SO THE OPEN-SIDE IS UP. SLIP TWO OF THE BENT PAPERCLIPS INTO THE INNER CIRCLE OF THE LIFESAVER. GENTLY PULL APART LIFESAVER BY STRETCHING IT. POSITION FRED OVER THE OPENED LIFESAVER. SLIDE FRED INTO THE LIFESAVER SO THAT IT IS AROUND THE MIDDLE PART OF HIS BODY. PULL ALL PAPERCLIPS OUT OF THE LOOP OF THE LIFESAVER. PICK UP FRED AND HIS LIFESAVER USING THE PAPERCLIP ON FRED.
