Researchers worked to determine how recess and exercise affected performance in school. Their studies revealed that one in three students receive fewer than 15 minutes of daily recess or none at all. The students receiving at least 15 minutes scored better on teacher behavioral ratings.

Research has proven over and over that children need regularly scheduled recess breaks. Recess keeps kids healthy and ready to learn. Kids can concentrate for 45 minutes or less at a time, and they need regular breaks to perform well.
