This tutorial is for college students and other professionals, with a basic understanding of Microsoft Word.

Presents easy-to-follow instructions by using: Trouble shoot topics are organized by sections Major and Minor headings Minor headings expand to reveal the steps Steps are numbered Caps lock and bolding of particular commands

The tone of the tutorial is informal. It uses both passive and active voice. When there is a command, active voice is utilized. Passive voice is used to describe the outcome of the command.

The directions are easy to follow for those more familiar with the program. However, for newer users it’s difficult to find certain items. For example, new users may have trouble locating page setup. So, for these users it may be more helpful if there were screen shots accompanying the instructions.

The tutorial was well organized and easy to follow. From this tutorial we learned, for our tutorial we would like to provide screen shots or video tutorials. Since our audience is technology savvy, there is no need to be as explicit in the instructions. Offering shortcuts would be beneficial.
