Additional issues from the Assessment Brief Context of the APM University Challenge The objectives of the Universities Project Challenge are to provide students with: An excellent way by which to develop and practice their project management theory in a ‘real’ environment. The opportunity to work alongside experienced project and programme managers from the APM North East Branch. During the Challenge teams will work in a supportive, friendly and competitive environment. They will: Develop project management theory and skills on a real project. Gain ‘real life’ experience and have the opportunity to practice hard and soft skills not easily taught in the classroom. Understand the correct and proper utilisation of project management to deliver a solution. Develop knowledge of success criteria required to deliver a winning project. Experience the qualities of an effective project manager. Obtain a realistic judgement of success, and project management skills, via the expertise of their APM mentor. Utilise up to £300 to deliver their project.
