Example 1 Look for a Pattern AUDITORIUM The sixth-grade class is putting on a play and needs to arrange chairs in the auditorium. The first row has 17 chairs in it, and each row after that has 4 more chairs in it. Make a list of the number of chairs in each of the first 8 rows. UnderstandYou know how many chairs are in the first row, and that each row has 4 more chairs than the row before it. You need to find the number of chairs in each of the first 8 rows.
